Job Title: Elementary Mandarin Teacher

Salary: $83,817 per year

 

Job Description
  • Teach simplified characters, pinyin, tones, and Chinese culture using innovative teaching methods.

  • Cultivate a learning atmosphere centered on intellectual inquiry and engagement.

  • Foster classroom community through proactive social-emotional learning practices.

  • Communicate with co-lead, students, families, and colleagues.

  • Participate in prospective student assessments.

  • Engage in self-reflection and professional development through goal-setting, training, and feedback loops with colleagues.

  • Collaborate with teams to design and implement Mandarin and Chinese cultural curriculum.

  • Set up and maintain classroom and materials.

  • Organize and execute student off-campus trips including curricular-related field trips.

 

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or Early Childhood Education required.

  • Experience: At least 12 months of work experience in a similar or related role, such as a teacher or instructional coach for school-age students.

  • Language: Fluency in Mandarin is required.

  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other required documents.

  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.

  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.

  • Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.

  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, and colleagues.

  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings.

 

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in language or a related major required.
