A Note about Shuttle Costs
Why Is the Shuttle Cost Higher Compared to Driving Your Children?
Coordinating a shuttle service for our school and camp involves significant operational and safety considerations, which contribute to the overall cost. Here’s why it may seem higher compared to parents driving their own children:
-
Highly Qualified Drivers: Our drivers are accredited by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
-
Vehicle Maintenance: Shuttle vehicles undergo frequent and thorough maintenance checks to ensure they are always in top condition.
-
Additional Staff: Extra staff members are on hand to ensure that children get on the correct bus, are safely seated, and are accounted for at each location.
-
Coordination and Logistics: Managing multiple pick-up and drop-off points for many children is a complex task requiring dedicated coordination staff to ensure everything runs smoothly.
-
Fuel Costs: Gas prices for running a large bus are significantly higher compared to regular vehicles, adding to the operational expenses.
Unlike parents transporting one or two children, operating a shuttle service involves multiple moving parts and extensive resources. Every measure we take is designed to prioritize safety, reliability, and efficiency. These efforts, combined with the rising cost of fuel and ongoing maintenance, contribute to the overall expense of running a shuttle service.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to offer a safe and convenient transportation option for our community.
