Maylet Hernandez

Assistant Camp Director

Film Producer, Traveler Preschool, Epicure

Pursuing a Law degree at UABJO, originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. This is her third summer with Terra Camps, where she brings a unique blend of creative and educational experience. She has spent several years working with children through Arte por la Mixteca, an art education program she directed in rural communities. Her background also includes film production, international shoot coordination, and social impact work that earned her recognition as Citizen of the Year in Oaxaca de Juárez. A radiant and imaginative educator passionate about magical realism, creative advocacy, and using chocolate as artistic fuel.

Dylan Turner, M.A., Ph.D

Lead Camp Counselor

Avid Hiker, Preschool Teacher, Equity Advocate

Accredited Early Childhood Educator,  Ph.D. in Anthropology at City University of New York. M.A. in Sociology and Social Anthropology at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada. B.A. in Anthropology and Philosophy (Joint Honors) at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.  15 Years early childcare experience. Currently, he runs his own outdoor Earth Education program, bringing a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to our students. We believe Dylan's passion for education and the outdoors will inspire and engage our children in exciting and meaningful ways.

Delainey Price-Elliott

Camp Counselor

Cheese Enthusiast, Running Hobbyist, Outdoor Enjoyer.​

Pursuing a BA in Environmental Studies at Colgate University, originally from Stillwater, NJ. Brings four years of experience working with children, including roles as a counselor at Sparta United Methodist Vacation Bible Camp, GEMS (Girls Empowered by Math and Science), and through mentorship programs like Peer Mentors and Madison Mentors at Colgate. Passionate about inspiring students to become land stewards by fostering respect and appreciation for the natural world.

Linda An

Camp Counselor

Friendly, Observant, Dedicated.

Pursuing her degree at Barnard College, originally from China and raised in the Bay Area from the age of nine. This is her first summer with Terra Camps. Linda brings experience working with children through after-school camp programming, where she facilitated engaging activities for young learners. A curious and warm-hearted educator, she’s passionate about building joyful connections—and never turns down a great meal!

Coco Dixon

Camp Counselor

Music Fanatic, Compassionate, Word Enthusiast.

Currently a junior at Tamalpais High School, originally from China and proudly residing in Sausalito. This is her second summer with Terra Camps, having first contributed the summer before her freshman year. Coco brings three years of experience volunteering with children and has been studying Mandarin with enthusiasm since age four, despite it not being spoken at home. A creative and dedicated educator, she finds joy in nurturing young learners and expressing herself through drawing and painting, both in class and in her free time.

Nicolas Rottier

Camp Counselor

Car Fanatic, Sunset Fool.

Pursuing an engineering degree, originally from Bordeaux, France, where he earned his baccalaureate at a seaside college. This is his first summer with Terra Camps, where he joins as an Earth Educator. Nicolas brings experience working with youth through surf instruction and basketball coaching. A friendly and nature-loving educator, he’s passionate about connecting with new cultures, living close to the land, and making this summer a memorable adventure.

Jack Lozeau

Camp Counselor

Animal Lover, Sports Enthusiast, Friendly

Currently a student at Lowell High School, originally from San Francisco, CA. This is his first summer with Terra Camps. Jack brings experience supporting youth as a CIT at a local sports camp, where he helped campers grow through athletic play and teamwork. A thoughtful and adventurous educator, he’s passionate about exploration—whether it’s around the Bay or up in the sky flying planes.

Natalie Deinier

Camp Counselor

​Grounded, Caring, Spirited.

Pursuing a BA in Environmental Studies at the UC Santa Barbara, originally from San Francisco, CA. This is her second summer with Terra Camps. Natalie brings experience teaching elementary students at Terra Marin’s Mandarin Mania camp and has conducted research on ocean sediment pollution around the Channel Islands. A curious and passionate educator, she’s excited to inspire a love of nature and outdoor exploration in children this summer.

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, originally from San Francisco, California. This is her first summer with Terra Camps. Aurora brings three years of experience babysitting and supporting young learners through aftercare at Terra Schools. A caring and enthusiastic educator, she’s excited to contribute to the camp community and grow professionally this summer.

Gabriel Perez

Camp Counselor

​Imaginative, Dedicated, and Adventurous

Originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. Gabriel is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Management and Sustainable Development at Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez. This is his second summer with Terra Camps. With over four years of experience directing film projects and managing cultural activities, he also brings strong leadership skills from his involvement in the Boy Scouts. Gabriel enjoys being outdoors, connecting with nature, and sharing knowledge. Passionate about teaching, he values passing on meaningful skills and experiences. He also loves storytelling—and collects movie memorabilia that makes him feel like a wizard.

William Villota

Camp Counselor

Energetic, Caring, Cultural.

Originally from Pasto, Colombia, and raised in Cali, he is currently studying Spanish and English at the University of Nariño. This is his third summer with Terra Camps, where he brings a love of language learning and a passion for working with children. With a background in soccer, tennis, and swimming, he enjoys combining play and education to create dynamic, engaging experiences. He’s excited to spend another summer sharing his culture, teaching Spanish, and making meaningful connections in San Francisco.

Estefani Narvaez

Camp Counselor

Tree Hugger, Calm and Kind.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in English from Universidad Veracruzana, originally from Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. This is her first summer with Terra Camps, where she joins as a Spanish counselor. Estefani brings several years of experience teaching children, both in schools and online, where she currently teaches Spanish to international students. A warm and adventurous educator, she’s especially excited to live abroad for the first time, create meaningful connections, and bring home lasting memories from her time with campers and staff.

Maria Ximena Castro

Camp Counselor

Energetic, Empathetic, Team-Oriented.

Originally from Mexico City, she is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology and is spending her first summer with Terra Camps as an Assistant Counselor. She brings experience connecting with children through sports and group activities, using her background in football (soccer) to foster teamwork, confidence, and resilience. With a passion for creating positive and inclusive spaces, she draws on her psychology studies to support campers’ emotional needs and group dynamics. She looks forward to building meaningful connections and helping create a fun, supportive environment for all.

Friendly, Patient, Curious

Originally from Pasto, Colombia, Danna is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and English. This is her first summer with Terra Camps, where she brings a warm and patient presence to the team. Danna has always loved spending time with children and is passionate about fostering positive, supportive environments where kids feel safe to learn and grow. She’s excited to share her language and culture while gaining valuable experience and improving her English along the way.

Hiker, Epicure, Mother of a Preschooler

Originally from Jiujiang, China, Shan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University and has over five years of experience. She joined Terra Schools in January 2025 as a Mandarin preschool teacher at the Mill Valley campus. This is her first summer with Terra Camps. Shan values the Reggio Emilia approach, which she says enhances early intellectual growth and executive functioning. She enjoys learning alongside the children she teaches. In her free time, Shan loves hiking, swimming, camping, and exploring nature with her daughter.

Great listener, Big-Hearted Beginner, and Lifelong Learner.

Originally from Heng Yang, Hunan Province, China, she has been living in San Francisco for nearly four years and is currently pursuing her associate degree at City College of San Francisco. This is her first summer with Terra Camps. She brings valuable experience from working in a Mandarin after-school program and completing 90 practicum hours at Ocean Lab Preschool through CCSF. She is excited to contribute to the camp community and support children in their growth and learning this summer.

Xuan Luo, MD

Healer, Organizer, Mother of a Preschooler

Originally from Quanzhou in Fujian Province, China, she holds a Medical degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Changsha Medical University and brings over a decade of experience as an acupuncturist and pediatrician. This is her second summer with Terra Camps. Her previous roles include serving as a Mandarin assistant teacher at Terra San Francisco and working in Terra Marin’s 2023 summer camp. After having her daughter five years ago, she discovered a deep passion for early childhood education. She believes in the importance of thoughtfully crafted learning environments that nurture each child’s ability to comprehend, plan, and grow—finding great joy in witnessing how quickly children thrive when given the right support.

Dana Wang

Camp Counselor

Adventurous, Nurturing, and Resourceful

Originally from Shandong, China, she has lived in both Beijing and Shanghai and has traveled extensively throughout China. She is currently earning her master’s degree in education at Moreland University. This is her first summer with Terra Camps. Her prior experience includes teaching in both kindergarten and elementary school settings. She enjoys hiking and can make delicious dumplings from scratch!

Peiwei Zhang

Camp Counselor

Deep thinker. Nature lover. Kid-at-heart.

Originally from Huaibei, Anhui, China, she holds a master’s degree in Biological Engineering from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This is her first summer with Terra Camps. Her prior experience includes volunteering as a teacher in Shanghai, where she taught economics to 4th-grade students for a year. She believes that learning a new language is like opening the door to a whole new world and is excited to support and inspire young learners this summer.

Originally from Beijing, China, she currently teaches Mandarin at Terra Mandarin Preschool in Mill Valley. This is her second summer with Terra Camps. She holds a Ed.S. and M.A. in Education, as well as a B.A. in TESOL, all from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. With over five years of experience working with preschool-aged children, she brings a deep passion for teaching and learning. Outside the classroom, she enjoys art, photography, and spending time in nature. She recently completed the 17-mile Crosstown Trail in San Francisco and looks forward to more outdoor adventures this summer!

Originally from Makati City, Philippines, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Operations Management. This is her first summer with Terra Camps, where she joins as Assistant Camp Coordinator. She brings five years of experience as a Marketing Coordinator in the real estate industry and four years as a virtual assistant, specializing in administrative and customer support.

Reliable, detail-oriented, and solution-driven, she’s passionate about creating a smooth and joyful experience for campers and families. A devoted aunt, she’s deeply involved in the lives of her nephews and niece, and brings that same warmth and care to camp. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, dancing, organizing, and connecting with people from all walks of life.

Bridget Perater

School Administrator

Resilient, Nurturing, Compassionate

Originally from Manlingay, Mabinay in Negros Oriental, Philippines, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Negros Oriental State University and 18 education units from La Consolacion College. A proud mother of three, she joined Terra Schools in September 2024 as a virtual assistant.

Bringing a heart for service and a love for learning, she has been teaching English online to Japanese students since 2019 and has also served as a substitute high school teacher in her local community. Her background in education, scheduling, and customer care has shaped her into a thoughtful and reliable team member. This summer, she’s excited to support Terra Camps in creating meaningful and joyful experiences for children and families. Outside of work, she finds peace in gardening and caring for her small sugarcane farm.
