Description
Evidence-based strategies for families and schools to help young children (ages 0-10) cope with anxiety, build resilience, and increase confidence. At the end of the workshop, we will share an update on Terra San Francisco, launching this fall of 2023 with a Mandarin Immersion TK & Kindergarten. A light lunch will be provided.

Wendy Xa is the Founding Head of School for the Terra Schools, a nature-based, multilingual Mandarin, Spanish, and English educational program for preschoolers through 8th graders. Previously, Wendy founded Presidio Knolls School, a Mandarin Immersion school based in the SoMa district of San Francisco. Wendy brings a fresh perspective as someone who studied neuroscience and founded 2 schools for her 2 daughters.

Shauna Sullivan is the Assistant Head of School at the Terra Schools. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and holds an M.A. and B.A. in Education with a focus in mathematics from SFSU. Shauna has taught every grade from kindergarten through 8th grade.
